The LSU Center for Energy Studies is a leading source of information about the Louisiana oil and gas industry. The Center has completed a number of studies regarding the industry.

The Louisiana Office of Conservation is located within the Department of Natural Resources, the Office of Conservation has day-to-day jurisdiction over the oil and gas industry.
