Does your vote matter...of course it does!!
With election day around the corner, candidates are talking about plenty of issues, but energy policy stands out as one that really affects all of us – especially here in Louisiana. Reliable, affordable energy keeps our homes running and our businesses thriving, and this year’s election is a chance to decide where America’s energy future goes.
Louisiana is a big player in energy, with its oil and natural gas industry powering jobs, the economy, and even national security. Our offshore and onshore producers, pipelines, and refineries all depend on policies that encourage growth while supporting our local economy. With inflation and international tensions in the mix, making energy more affordable and less political is essential.
The U.S. should pursue policies that encourage increased production, streamline permitting, and promote balanced regulation and fair tax policies. The Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association (LMOGA) stands behind the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) five-point roadmap, which outlines practical steps to reinforce America’s energy leadership and help ease inflation.
Louisiana’s energy sector is also investing in sustainability, with innovations like carbon capture and enhanced drilling tech, and our schools are preparing a skilled workforce to keep us competitive.
Ultimately, policies that support local energy production, jobs, and economic stability aren’t just about our state – they’re about securing a stable energy future for the whole country.
By backing American energy, we’re backing a stronger, more resilient economy, both locally and nationally.
The decisions we make this November will have long-lasting effects on the oil and natural gas industry and, in turn, our economy. Voting is a powerful way to have a say in policies that impact energy, jobs, and our nation’s future. Ready to learn more about what’s on November’s ballot?
