A “Gulf States Energy Retreat” is being held noon-5 p.m. June 20 and 8:30 a.m.-noon June 21 at the Energy, Coast and Environment Building at LSU.
The event is being held by LSU’s Center for Energy Studies and Jones Walker.
Topics include developments in federal and state legislation/regulations; the impact of drilling operations on local communities; water acquisition and the impacts of water withdrawals from the ground and surface; impact caused by the rapid influx of drilling operations on local communities; utilization of alternative water sources; and advances and emerging technology in fracking and horizontal drilling technology.
