The Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association (LMOGA) and the Gulf Economic Survival Team (GEST) made the following remarks in response to the results of the 2020 Presidential Election and the election of President-elect Joe Biden:

Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association, President Tyler Gray:

“Nobody understands the power of the oil and natural gas industry better than Louisianans. In our state alone, industry has a $73 billion economic impact and supports nearly 250,000 quality, high wage jobs. LMOGA is dedicated to continue working with state and national leaders from both parties to support solutions that promote the safe delivery of affordable, reliable energy for families while addressing our climate challenges. We need a strong, long-term energy policy that spurs investment, promotes homegrown energy and recognizes the importance of a robust oil and natural gas industry for America’s future.”

Gulf Economic Survival Team, Executive Director Lori LeBlanc:

“America's oil and natural gas industry is a critical piece of our nation's economy supported by small businesses and energy workers throughout the Gulf coast.  As we look ahead, we must ensure energy policies put into place support American energy workers and families who depend on the industry’s high wage jobs. GEST looks forward to working with the President-elect and his Administration to ensure the long-term sustainability of American energy production and to support the economic benefits to our Gulf Coast communities and families.”
