The Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association (LMOGA) released the following statement today in in support of SB359, a piece of lawsuit reform legislation scheduled to be considered during Thursday’s Senate Natural Resources Committee hearing. LMOGA joined 21 parish, regional and state organizations in a letter of support for SB 359, authored by Sen. Bob Hensgens (R-Abbeville), sent today to the committee.
“LMOGA supports SB359 as a critical piece of legislation to keep the state’s focus on enforcing oil and natural gas permits and supports a strong, robust energy industry during a time our state needs it most,” said LMOGA President Tyler Gray.
“Rather than pursuing flawed and divisive legal attacks against companies that support Louisiana’s economic and environmental resiliency, SB359 focuses on working with industry to continue moving our coast, our economy and Louisiana forward.”
