An area of low pressure over central Alabama is expected to move generally southward into the north-central Gulf of Mexico during the next day or so, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

Environmental conditions appear marginally conducive for slow development of this disturbance once it moves over water. This system has a low chance, 10 percent, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
