Oil spill equipment moving to New Iberia

The National Response Corp. is moving its oil spill response equipment, which includes barges, skimmers and booms, to American Pollution Control Corp.’s New Iberia facility.

The move became necessary after private equity firm J.F. Lehman & Co. bought National Response Corp. from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Seacor Holdings in March, AMPOL said in a news release.

With the equipment relocation to New Iberia, American Pollution Control said it now has one of the largest inventories of emergency response equipment stored and maintained in the South.

“Having this additional inventory of emergency response equipment on-site and ready to use increases AMPOL’s total response resources,” President and Chief Executive Officer Kirk Headley said in a news release. “Our recent facility expansion and other upgrades have allowed us to acquire and store additional equipment to be ready at a moment’s notice if a need arises.”

American Pollution’s services include oil spill response and cleanup, environmental restoration, removal of naturally occurring radioactive material and tank cleaning.
