It's that time of the year! We're hurrying to decorate our homes, buy presents and plan for family gatherings. In the midst of all the hustle, let's not forget the unsung hero of our holiday cheer: Louisiana energy!

The majority of products you'll purchase this holiday season are derived from oil and natural gas. Here are just a few examples:

  • Artificial Christmas Trees
  • Tree Lights
  • Ornaments
  • Stockings
  • Wrapping Paper
  • Artificial Wreaths

Artificial Christmas trees are made of PVC plastic for durability and fire-retardant properties and are reused year after year. LED string lights and shatterproof ornaments are made with plastic. Oil and natural gas byproducts are also key components of stockings, wrapping paper, and artificial wreaths.

Some other holiday products made from oil and natural gas include adhesive tape, tinsel, ribbon, Styrofoam, artificial snow, fragrances, paraffin candle wax and most importantly…Santa costumes!

Wishing you a very merry and bright holiday from LMOGA!
