ExxonMobil gives $65,000 to LSU Foundation

Local ExxonMobil representatives presented the LSU Foundation with a $65,000 gift on behalf of Exxon Mobil Corporation during an Oct. 8 reception at the Club at LSU Union Square.

The gift provides support to the College of Engineering, in the Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering, the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, the Gordon A. & Mary Cain Department of Chemical Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, and for engineering technology; the E. J. Ourso College of Business, in the departments of Accounting and Information Systems & Decision Sciences, and for business administration; the College of Science, in the Department Geology & Geophysics; and LSU Career Services, through its STAR Employer Program.

“ExxonMobil’s generous gift continues the company’s longtime support of LSU,” said Lee Griffin, president and CEO of the LSU Foundation. “We appreciate the opportunity to celebrate ExxonMobil’s commitment to philanthropy and to personally thank our colleagues there for ExxonMobil’s investment in LSU.”

“LSU and ExxonMobil have a longtime partnership in nurturing innovative, skilled students to help meet the demand for skilled workers for the nation’s growing energy sector,” said ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery Manager Mark Northcutt. “We look forward to continuing our commitment to LSU and to the future engineers, chemists and scientists who are critical to our success.”

Joining ExxonMobil at the event were faculty and staff leaders from the LSU Foundation, the colleges of Engineering and Science, the E. J. Ourso College of Business, LSU Career Services, and LSU’s Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
