La. mineral board awards 21 leases

The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board collected more than $816,900 in bonus revenue for the state in its January lease sale.

The fiscal-year total hit $12.8 million.

The board awarded 21 leases this week covering 2,332 acres, out of 58 nominated tracts covering more than 76,542 acres. Leases were sold in Acadia, Caddo, Concordia, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. Mary, Tangipahoa and Terrebonne parishes.
