La. mineral lease sale gets $2.7 million

The State Mineral and Energy Board’s September lease sale generated $2.7 million on 28 leases coveraing 6,825 acres.

The board sold leases in Caddo, Cameron, Jefferson, Lafourche, Plaquemines, Rapides, St. Helena, St. James, Tensas and Terrebonne parishes. The board had offered leases on 51 tracts covering more than 64,044 acres.

Lease sales have generated $4.5 million during the first three months of the fiscal year, which began July 1.
