The Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association (LMOGA) and the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA) held a joint industry annual meeting March 4-6, 2020 at The Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, La. The meeting brought local, state and national stakeholders together to discuss the state of the oil and natural gas industry, its vital impact on the state and the importance of making Louisiana an attractive place for industry to continue to invest.

“Our members provide economic benefits and opportunity for all Louisianans,” said LMOGA President Tyler Gray. “The meeting program highlighted our members strong environmental investments, innovation in low carbon technologies, and meeting Louisiana energy demands with affordable, reliable and sustainable energy.”

Leadership from several state departments, research organizations, national groups and economic development experts were among the speakers during the program. Speaker highlights included ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants Company President Bryan Milton and Shell US LNG President Frederic Phipps. State legislators participated in panel discussions during the Thursday afternoon breakout sessions.

The joint meeting’s theme “Innovation in Energy” was highlighted by an industry technology exhibitor showcase featuring virtual reality showcasing how the oil and natural gas industry is driving progress with innovative solutions.

During Thursday’s luncheon, LMOGA awarded its highest individual honor. The Hard Hat Award was given to Brian Fahrenthold of Enbridge for exhibiting exemplary and outstanding contributions to Louisiana’s oil and natural gas industry. Fahrenthold’s career in the industry has spanned nearly 40 years and as a board member of the association, he has contributed greatly to LMOGA’s success over the years. The award has only been given six other times in the association’s 97-year history.
