LMOGA Hosts Annual Meeting, Elects New Chair and Vice Chair

BATON ROUGE, LA---The Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association held its annual meeting March 14-15 in New Orleans, La. In conjunction with the annual meeting, the LMOGA Board of Directors met and elected Gloria Moncada as chair and David Foster as vice chair.

Moncada is the first female chair of the organization in its 97-year history. She is the plant manager for the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery, where she began her career in 1992 as a chemical engineer. Throughout her career with ExxonMobil, Moncada has worked in business, planning and leadership roles in refineries from Virginia to Texas, California and Singapore. She previously served as LMOGA’s Vice Chair.

“As board chair, I am excited to continue the important work that LMOGA does for our industry and communities,” Moncada said at LMOGA’s annual meeting. “I am eager to help LMOGA bring increased value to its members through advocacy that supports a more predictable business environment to attract more investment to our state. The oil and gas industry is a strong economic backbone for Louisiana. The upstream, midstream, downstream, and support services provide thousands of jobs, attract new technology, bring significant civic investment and great economic impact to sustain local growth and bolster our communities. LMOGA provides a collaborative partnership and important leadership to help us realize these goals”

LMOGA’s two-day meeting brought local, state and national stakeholders together to discuss the state of the oil and gas industry, its vital impact on the state and the importance of making Louisiana an attractive place for industry to continue to invest.

“Our members highlighted strong environmental investments, innovations in low carbon technologies and efforts to meet Louisiana energy demands with affordable, reliable and sustainable energy,” said LMOGA President Tyler Gray. “This industry provides economic benefits and opportunity for all Louisianans, and LMOGA has made great strides this year in promoting policies that make our state an attractive location for industrial investment. Our progress would not have been possible without the strong support from our members. We look forward to continuing our legacy of representing Louisiana’s oil and gas industry since 1923.”

Leadership from several state departments, research organizations and economic development experts were among the speakers at LMOGA’s energy issues forums Thursday. Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser welcomed attendees on the second day of the event.
