PennTex plans North Louisiana Natural Gas Facility

PennTex Midstream Partners LLC in Houston plans to build a natural gas gathering and processing facility in north Louisiana.

PennTex on Monday formed PennTex North Louisiana LLC as a joint venture with producers in north Louisiana for the development of midstream infrastructure to support growing production from its partners and other producers in the area.The initial phase includes constructing of a 200 MMcf/d cryogenic processing plant and associated natural gas residue and natural gas liquids pipelines. PennTex NLA expects the system to begin operations in the first quarter of 2015. PennTex is in discussions with producers regarding additional expansions.

PennTex said it has received a substantial equity commitment from NGP Energy Capital Management through its affiliate, NGP Natural Resources X, LP.

PennTex was founded by Thomas F. Karam, CEO, (in photo) along with Robert O. Bond, chief operating officer, and Steven R. Jones, chief financial officer.
